It's a great Christmas when you have your mom and sister in your new house, a few dogs you gathered along the way from holiday travel, and your father in-law did not overcook the christmas roast... this time.
Happy Christmas everyone, I hope your week was successful as well. Filled with good food, a little relaxation and a hint of the natural stress that swarms us during the holiday season. I am happy to say that after a month of house projects and anxiety over a blended family Christmas and what my in-laws were going to have for Christmas dinner, I have made it through, and the roast was great! I am speaking lovingly, of course..but seriously, now I will hibernate for at least a month, eat only potatoes and enjoy my new couch that was enjoyed firstly by the dogs visiting over Christmas.
Anyway, for FUN-here is a compilation of the delicious food( and some other funny things) consumed in the DellaRatta/Introne house over christmas week.
The many ways we ate sourdough were endless and lovely, from gravlax to just butter.
As a break from cooking and an adventure to the coast of Maine for Kate and mom, we went out on Monday for a fantastic dinner at 18 Central in Rockport. Had a dozen and a halfoysters and some great cocktails.
Christmas eve was our 7 fishes night- a tradition of the DellaRatta's and a nostalgic feeling of fried fish and grease fires that cant be beat!
And something sweet ...
Lastly, a dog on my couch newly unwrapped couch.
Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas, Sarah!
Thank God, Cap didn’t serve a well-done roast! I love reading your posts. Keep them coming! Happy New Year!
